Dustin doesn’t catch Eduardo’s eyes when he walks away.
And he’s glad for it because he doesn’t think he’d be able to handle seeing the anger in Eduardo’s eyes, the (rightly) accusation of betrayal and then the disappointment.
Instead, Dustin casts his eyes downwards and twists his fingers together.
There isn’t much he can do at this point. But he wants to. He walks to stand up and do something. He wants to back pedal to the night Mark had asked him, “Dustin. Listen. This is important.” He wants to stop his past self from signing those papers, from nodding along and listening to the sweet sugar coated words of Sean Parker. He wants to, at least, go back to last night and pick up the phone to call Eduardo.
He knows he’s too late, though.
It’s far past the time for anything to be done.
